Home Remedies to Keep Away Phoenix Mice and Get Rid of Them

Rats! They may look small and helpless for their size - but you can never underestimate the abilities of the Phoenix mice. These tiny creatures are highly intelligent and skillful survivalists. They are highly adaptable and can easily thrive across various environmental conditions. With their size, they can easily crawl through the smallest holes and spaces. They are also prolific when it comes to reproduction as they can produce many babies in just as little as three weeks. Mice are by nature destructive chewing and gnawing almost everything from furniture to clothes, to electric wirings and house structures. They poop and pee literally everywhere and are notorious for being known as carriers of health-threatening pathogens, diseases and infections. Dealing with mice is not fun and can be extra challenging because of their cunning nature. However, here are some of the effective home remedies which can help you get rid of the pesky mice from your home:

1. Mothballs
Mothballs are great ways to deter Arizona mice away. The mice hate the pungent smell of mothballs. Place mothballs in the corners of your attic, under your sink and other areas where mice usually play to let them know they aren't welcome in your house.
2. Peppermint Oil
One of the best known ways to eliminate Phoenix mice is by using peppermint oil. Dip cotton balls into the peppermint oil and place them in strategic locations in your house particularly on the spots where the presence of rats are frequently observed.
3. Bay Leaves
Are you looking for another natural way to keep mice at bay? Just put some bay leaves regularly over places where mice are usually hiding.

5. Ammonia
Nothing smells as disgusting as ammonia for the mice which is why ammonia is one of the best ways to deter them.
6. Cayenne Pepper

7. Onions
Mice dislike the strong odor of onions. Slice onions and place them on various locations in your house specially those spots which are favorite hang out places for the critters.
8. Fabric Softener Sheets
Dryer sheets have a pleasant smell. But not for the mice. They absolutely do not like their strong scent and is an excellent way to get rid of them.
9. Use Steel Wools as Barriers
Mice may chew on almost everything but not steel wools. They found the material hard to nibble.
10. Cat or Snake Litter
Trick mice into thinking that their predators are just nearby waiting to prey on them. Use dried cat or snake litter which you can purchase at pet stores or certain online stores. Spread the litter on areas where Phoenix mice are using as their dwellings to scare them away.
